NLP International Conference
For the last two years, we have been asked:
"Why don't you do the Conference as a hybrid event?"
The assumption seemed to be that it was easy... a camera, a microphone, a room and a presenter...all straightforward, right?
Here are some of the things we had to consider:
6 streams, 6 rooms, 50+ presenters, 400+ delegates, 30+ stewards all coming from 30+ countries...
30+ Government travel guidelines and restrictions, UK-changing-legislation, insurance (or lack of!), willingness to travel, cost of travel, accommodation, travel insurance and the ever-increasing costs of all suppliers and the venue...
Venue deposits, minimum numbers, venue rules...
Live streaming capabilities, venue bandwidth, additional AV equipment expenses, additional IT equipment, additional training for staff and volunteers...
Will delegates turn up, will presenters turn up, will volunteers turn up...
...and yet we still wanted to make it happen!
So, after some thought-juggling, we have let go of the existing 3 day conference format and decided to split the Conference over two weekends, the first in-person and the second virtual.
This way, everyone has the choice of turning up to hug, mingle and connect with others in the same physical room(s) or watching from their own space/country with less expense for travel and accommodation.
This is how it will work:
Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May 2023
An in-person event at the Radisson Hotel, Heathrow (formerly the Park Inn). Saturday's event will feature the Masterclass with a variety of presentations running across 2 sessions on Sunday. The Masterclass and Sunday presentations will also be streamed live on our virtual platform.
Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May 2023
A virtual, multiple streamed event hosted on Whova and Zoom.
There are TWO ticket types, both covering the whole event.
This entitles you to attend the first weekend in person AND join the second weekend virtually. You will get refreshments, lunch and free parking on in-person conference days plus your bonus goodie bag.
Tickets for the in-person event are strictly limited to 230 places on a first-come-first-served basis.
This entitles you to access all four days of the conference virtually.
All delegates (in-person and virtual only) will have access to the recordings of every session, including the Masterclass, for 6 months after the conference ends.
When you select your ticket on the website, please make sure you choose the right one for you!
After purchasing your ticket (virtual / in-person) you will only be able to change your selection subject to availability and for an additional charge of £100 (to cover our admin fee)
Whatever your choice, you can network on the Conference app, connect with friends, make new friends, discuss life, the universe and everything...and watch the recordings for 6 months after the Conference ends!
