More than Mindset: The Role of the Felt Sense in Change Work

Kaye Heyes

2027 Masterclass

Have you ever done careful, skilled change work with a client, and watched them slip back into old patterns within weeks? The insight in the session was real. It just hadn't reached the body yet.

This experiential masterclass explores felt sense: the body's way of knowing, beyond mindset. Drawing on Eugene Gendlin's Focusing, alongside my experience as an NLP-trained coach and Focusing practitioner, the session offers applied practices to enable embedded and sustained change with clients.

Through an introduction to what the felt sense is, guided exercises, and pair practice, you'll explore what it takes to move from knowing something to becoming someone who lives it. By the end of this masterclass, you'll be able to:

•       Recognise your body's yes, no and unsure: in yourself and in your clients

•Use the metaphor of a simple body compass to notice direction, readiness and course correction

•Identify when a client has understood a change cognitively but not yet embodied it

•Bring felt sense into your existing NLP practice, to check pace, deepen integration and support sustainable change
