Ian McDermott and Tricia Riddell

Ian McDermott pioneered bringing NLP and Coaching together with his bestselling The NLP Coach (2001). Since then he has championed , designed and delivered Coach Approach programmes for organizations ranging from mining to banking to NGOs. For the last 15 years he has been actively involved with Tricia Riddell in bringing together NLP and Neuroscience.

Based in the US (Connecticut) and the UK (London) he is a prolific author and the Founder of International Teaching Seminars (ITS) which recently celebrated its 35th anniversary. He is an international consultant, thought leader and NLP Master Trainer. Nowadays he spends much of his time advising senior leaders worldwide.

Tricia Riddell has been delivering training in Applied Neuroscience to business schools and organisations for the last 20 years. She has a reputation for making the complex simple. This has helped individuals and organisations to learn more about how their brains work and therefore to work better with their own and other people’s brains.

For many years she has provided the neuroscience input to every module of the ITS NLP Practitioner Programme. Together with Ian McDermott she has created the Applied Neuroscience Certification Programme and just co-authored a new book on Neuro-Effective Leadership (2025). Tricia Riddell is a Professor of Applied Neuroscience and a consultant neuroscientist.
