No Longer Petrified - The Use of NLP in Eating Disorder Recovery
Lindsey Agness & Sophie Baker
2026 Conference
This session will explore how NLP can be used to shift the rigid thinking of sufferers of anorexia. After experiencing many false starts to her own recovery due to the lack of impact of 'traditional' support on shifting mindsets, Sophie engaged Lindsey's support to work together to create a method that has a measurable impact on recovery.
We invite you to attend if you are working in the field of eating disorders, would like to learn more or maybe you are a carer yourself. What you will get from this session will be insights into the work so far, including the step by step method they have been creating. It will be an active session to give you an experience of how the tools work as well as how to apply them with others.
The session will also give you the opportunity to input into the future of the work as Lindsey and Sophie continue to engage with a wider audience.
What you will gain from this session:
Understanding of what is like to be a sufferer of anorexia
Common strategies of sufferers to stay 'safe'
Insights into the traditional fields of support ie the 'upside down model'
Overview of the method created to help shift mindsets
Opportunity to engage in an experiential activity
Possibility of ongoing involvement in the project
